Sewing project news

We were excited that the people in Nandarola are able to use the addition on their community centre for their sewing project. The people in San luis are anxiosly awaiting their build so that their group of 13 can sew indoors and not worry about the rain. More material and machines were brought to both of our villages.

Sewing in San Luis and Nandarola

The sewing Co-Ops that we started in our adopted villages are progressing nicely,  especially in the village of San Luis. The ladies in San Luis meet 4x a week to sew together. These 13 dedicated women were sharing 3 sewing machines. This year they received a couple more sewing machines and enough fabric to sew 50 school uniforms, as well as scissors, thread and other material. We hope to bring them more machines when we go again. The maternity house also received a new machine so that the women can sew baby clothes while they await the delivery of their child.

Great to see all the progress already being made on the build. I'm sure you are looking forward to the arrival of the rest of the team. Stay away from the scorpions. I'm enjoying the pictures. Bev
